  Seven Seals

As we mentioned earlier, the book of Revelation use Apocalyptic style of literature which is highly symbolic, depicting conflict between good and evil. Revelation 6 and other chapters has also been briefly given by Jesus in Mathew 24 and Luke 21 and different old Testament prophets at different times. Let us see few similar passages

Revelation 6:7-8
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!"
8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Luke 21:10-11
10 Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

Revelation 6:12-14
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Matthew 24:29
"Immediately after the distress of those days "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

All of us do generally believe the Son of Man will be coming with power and great glory, Satan getting defeated, world coming to an end and an everlasting Kingdom getting established.

The question is are we in the last days. We are in the last days according to Joel and Acts 2:17

Acts 2:16-17
16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

What can we conclude with. All scripture can be streamlined to two commandments.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Today can we see in our lives that we love God and our neighbors?
